Walter "Rick" F. Blydenburgh, Jr.

Walter “Rick” F. Blydenburgh, Jr., 67,  passed away on June 9, 2021 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, New York. Born in Southampton NY on June 10, 1953, he was the husband of Irene M. Blydenburgh. They would’ve been married 12 years on June 13, 2021.

He worked in the HVAC industry from 1972 until he retired in June of 2019. His favorite pastimes in his younger years included adventuring in deep sea waters fishing with friends as a recreational hobby, and serving as assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 483 in Hampton Bays.

 
He is survived by his wife, Irene; his children, Jennifer Schnieder (Katherine), Daniel Blydenburgh (Taryn), Anna Smallwood (David), Victoria Florimont (Joshua Dean), Jeffrey Florimont (Katie Ranke); his grandchildren, Abigail, Jacob, Alice, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Mason and Emory. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna Matz (Mike), Linda Carter, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter F. Sr. and Carol Blydenburgh; his sister, Arleen Wright; and his late wife, Jane M. Blydenburgh.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 20 Ponquogue Ave, Hampton Bays, NY.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021  11:00 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Hampton Bays, NY.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Mary’s Memorial Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
