Obituary

Lauritz Evan Andersen (Larry) of Hampton Bays and formerly of Douglaston, NY peacefully passed away on February 10th, 2023. He was 83. Born April 15th,1939 to Knud and Elizabeth in Manhattan, both of whom predeceased him. Larry graduated from Long Island City High School, served in the United States Army and then received his bachelor's degree from Fordham University. Larry worked as a Licensed Customhouse Broker for H.W. St. John and American Cyanamid. Later on in his career, he co-owned with his son Jerry, Courier Associates a temperature-controlled trucking company. Larry enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He had a zest for life and loved Hampton Bays. He was a devoted husband and father who treasured his moments with his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary and son Gerard. He is survived by his daughter, Janice Hauptman and her husband Jason. Daughter-in-law Jo-Ann Andersen and his four beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas, Marisa, Lauren and Jackie. He is also survived by his sister Norma Elfiky and sister-in-law Geraldine Gaudiello.  

A Celebration Mass will be held on Friday February 24th at 10:30 am at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays.  Memorial donations may be made to the Church of St. Rosalie Food Pantry, 31 East Montauk Highway Hampton Bays, NY 11946
