Gertrude Margaret Eadie

Gertrude Margaret Eadie September 9, 1927- March 11, 2024

Gertrude Margaret Eadie, nee Matz, age 96, entered into eternal rest on March 11, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Catherine Nappi and son-in-law Stephen Nappi, grandsons, Craig and Brian Nappi also Kevin and Ryan Grimm, and son-in-law and devoted caretaker, Roy Jessup, and two great-grandchildren, Keira and Kaden Nappi, and four step-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Andrew Eadie Jr., and daughter, Donna Ann Jessup, and grandson Kevin Michael Burding, her three sisters and four brothers. 

Born in Altoona, PA, she grew up in Queens, NY, where she met her husband, Andrew, the love of her life. They moved to Hampton Bays, Long Island, NY, where they were charter members of Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Gertrude was employed and retired from the Suffolk County Department of Finance and Taxation where she served 23 years. She relocated to Goose Creek, SC, in 2020 to live with her daughter Donna and Roy and to be close to her daughter Linda of Summerville, SC. She missed her many friends, nieces and nephews she left behind in Hampton Bays, and did her best to stay in touch.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 20, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, at Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 20 Ponquogue Ave, Hampton Bays NY. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 21, at 11:00 AM, at Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Good Ground Cemetery.
