Frederick Francis Schneider Sr died at his residence in Hampton Bays on March 21,2021, with his wife by his side. He was 83. Fred , the son of the late John Phillip Schneider and Carolyn McCauley, was born September 4, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up as a Brookly Dodger fan with his older brother John, and his two younger brothers Thomas and James. In the 1800s, his family settled in Brooklyn after coming from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Fred entered the Army in May 1961 and was a decorated sharpshooter. He spent two years in the Army National Guard of New York before moving out to Long Island and starting a family with his first wife, Joan Schneider. In the late 1960’s, Fred was working as a tile mechanic and helped tile Riverhead School before founding his own tile company, F. Schneider Tile Corporation in 1970 and then opened Style Marble and Tile in 1987. Fred worked alongside his sons Rick, Jimmy, and Micheal tiling homes from NYC to Montauk , until he retired in 2012. Fred married his true love, Constance Carter Schneider in 1990 and became known as ‘Connie’s husband’ in Hampton Bays. Together in 2009 they retired to Punta Gorda, Florida for the winter months returning to Hampton Bays each spring to watch theirgrandchildren participate in multiple sporting activities . Fred and Connie could often be found on the sidelines for Baymen football games and Mariner baseball. Fred is survived by his daughters Linda Kujawa, Jane Boyd and her husband Jack; sons Allen, James, Michael and Frederick Jr. (Rick); daughters-in-law, Joanne, Lorri and Mary; step son Henry Huecker; stepdaughters Janet Huecker and her wife Diane Sutton, Julie Lester and her husband David; eighteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Services were scheduled for Friday, March 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at ScottRothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A mass will take place Saturday, March 27, at Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to East End Hospice (eeh.org), or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (donors@stjude.org) would be appreciated by the family
