Catherine Algieri

Catherine Algieri, 82, of Hampton Bays, NY, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on November 2, 2021.  

Catherine was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 6, 1939, to Anna and Albert Palmerini. She was raised with strong pride in her Italian heritage, loved her summers in Babylon, and adored growing up with her older siblings, Adele and Anthony.

She met her sweetheart, Joseph, in Brooklyn, NY, and their love inspired many for 43 years. Cathy dedicated her life to being a fantastic mother to Michael and an exceptional grandmother to Analiese and Joseph.

Cathy filled her home with warmth and kindness; she could always be found in her kitchen cooking for the many parties and holidays celebrated with family and friends.  She was a volunteer at East End Hospice for 18 years, and especially loved her time with the children and staff of Camp Good Grief. 

Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Joseph. She is survived by her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Kathy, grandchildren, Analiese and Joseph, her siblings, Anthony Palmerini and Adele Costello, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and amazing friends!  She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will take place on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 20 Ponquogue Ave, Hampton Bays, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Interment to follow at Sacred Hearts Cemetery, Southampton, NY.
